responsibility in linworth
Being a proud linworth student, i think that the linworth community has gone down hill. earlyer today i was in my WOW (walking onto wellness) class. in the class we walk down to antrum lake and around it once, then back. today Char brought up the fact that someone (they shall remain namless) called a friend from thomas and told them to meet her at the lake and drive her back to linworth. this was by far one of the most "bullshit" things i have herd about at linworth so far (no matter what jackson ludin can whipp up). this actualy goes along with the laptop thing. I hope that people who know there person will give them crap for it and possibly prevent things like this from happening.
expectations
i believe that the most important thing to any relationship is respect. if you can't respect them the just GTFO of them. and if you can't respect other people then don't expect to get it back.
laptops
I personally think that the idea of using computers for things other than school work can go either way (don't do it Jen). for me i usualy use Jacob Giron's laptop for a pregram called Phun, its a phisics program that josh jacob and myself have taken interest in. this program is somewhat educational and it shows you how weight , angels, gravity, and size of your catipult matters. most of the time when i use the coputer i don't have much homework or anything more productive i can do at the time so i don't see how it could cause much of a problem but, if i were to have a shiot load of larry homework due next class and it was on it i would have no problem if a teacher came up to me and "asked" me to get off the damn computer. now, i think that the teachers like Mark , Larry , Ron, and many others should take a more inderect aproch to it (more like what larry does AFTER freshman year). If Larry sees' a student that always does his/her work hes not going to do anything. for an example, the other day Jacob and Dylan were playing Empire Earth of the computer and Larry walked up started watching and pretty much walked away. now, he decides how to deal with a student on how well they can keep up and get work in on time. i think that most teachers should take this aproch to work because it seems to be the most fair and just to all of the students.

charlie bartlett
i think that around linworth and thomas there is more illegal drug use than perscription use. however, i do agree that getting your hands on perscription drugs is much easyer than others. it seems that there are allways more reported cases of perscription abuse than what i actualy see or notice.

School Shootings
I think that a lot of times school shootings are caused by abuse. Knowing that, i think that linworth will never have any problem with shootings, but thomas on the other hand, may have a few problems(not saying that i know anything about it). I also know for a fact that thomas has certain klicks or groups of people that tend to carry more popularity than others. This is probobly what led to some or all of the past "bomb threats" in the school. while this is still a serious thing its not as bad as actualy taking several peoples lives. So the idea of this is that i believe that certain acts of violence are often caused by abuse or neglect from one type of person to another.
Changes To The Class
I think so far the class has been pretty good. I like what we do and what we read. The reflections are also very nice. So far i have liked the class because it has givin me a chance to write and reflect on certain topics the i would have interest in. Then only thing i would change is what we reflect on. So far we have read about taget, schools, and even types of epedemics like clothing and shows but, i think that we could refelect on more things that would effect us more, maybe even personaly.
For an example jen, i think that(and i will try and post on the main page) we should write about the drug bust at thomas the other day, just a thought.

chapter3(2)
I would also like to not that in the book he lables the "stickiness" as how long something sticks or stays on air in these cases. he also says that there was origionaly no use in television for education, but i think that Juan proved people wrong. she may have started a chain of education through out TV but we have come to a "tipping point" in our time. The TV had embarked on a new age of education but our shows have now(i think) brought that to a stop. for an example, i believe that the channels MTV, VH1, and BET are all full of shit. The shows on these few channels i also believe lower your iq. don't get me wrong Poison was a kick ass bad but "rock of love" is just plain stupid. I think that shows like "rock of love" "i love newyork" "flavor of love" and i can't forget "america's next top bulimic" are going to start a new AIDS epedimic and mark the tipping point and mabey even the destruction of educational television.
chapter 3
I think that the seseme street was one of the best shows on TV when i was a kid(besides the power rangers OH YEAH!). i also think that joan ganz cooney's idead was a big hit and defenetly halped me learn (six, six bats!). I think that this show also sparked many new educational shows like of corse blues clues and dora too. This shows that epedimics can also be started in television.
these are some abosolutly epic blues clues videos

chapter two(2)
i think that the concept of "the strenght of the week ties" is one of his better ideas. I agree that the people who live in a diffrent "world" are incredibly important but i also have to say that the people in your own little world are also very important.
chapter two
The whole idea that a little bit of news can travle a long way seems very convincing. i also think that this same concept could be related to things in our time. for an example, when ever some washed up idiot drunk retarded celebrity does something its in magazenes all over the U.S. mabey even the world. Now i think that i speek for quite a few people when i say i don't give a damn about britney spears or her skank sister, but i think that the whole idea can ither be negitive or positive too.

adding to my "kids shows" post
Also something else to think about, have you seen the little mermaid latley? How about the lion king? i have also noticed that there are subliminal messages in most of the earlyer disney movies. What has gone wrong with kids entertainment these days?
When Jen was talking about blues clues(i will never be too old for blues clues) it got me thinking, how many of the shows you had come to love when you were young turned out to be really screwed up. For an example, did you know that the first guy who did blues clues killed himself? next time your flipping through the channels and see a kids show watch it and see if you can point out and screwed up or perverted things.
cool schools
for my first school i think the Colonial Hills Elementy School is a great school. I think that its a cool school because of its exelent features like the friendly teachers, great help, easy learning, and of course recess and i have first hand experence with the school.
for my second school i know i'm not going out of the box but i think that linworth is one of the greatest schools out there. it has one of no... the greatest learning envorment and types I have ever known. So these are the best schools i know of.
P.S. Kilbourne Middle sucks!

the outdoor class
i think that the article is very interesting and brings up some good points. in the article there is a quote that goes "Life consists with wildness. The most alive is the wildest. Not yet subdued to man." i think that this is true in most cases and I think it would be nice to get more of this opinion. I also think that the whole idea of an outdoor class is exelent and it would be nice to convince ron to have a few outdoor classes.
